Supporters of The Rotary Foundation and Rotary members like you make it possible to promote peace through service projects and supporting peace fellowships and scholarships. With your help, members take action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.
Did you know that Rotary partners with seven universities around the world to establish Rotary Peace Centers to train individuals devoted to peacebuilding and conflict resolution? Learn about Rotary’s newest peace center partnership at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul. Peacebuilding is a cornerstone of our mission as a humanitarian service organization and one of Rotary's areas of focus — the channels of activity through which our members make their mark on the world. Our programs, grants, and fellowships focus on creating environments where peace can be built and maintained, including promoting Positive Peace. Rotary believes that if concerned citizens work together to create peace locally, lasting change can happen globally. How your donations to our Foundation make an impact Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards up to 130 fellowships for master’s degrees and certificate studies at premier universities. Today, more than 1,800 Rotary Peace Fellowship alumni are actively contributing to world peace, working in areas from grassroots initiatives to policy development at the United Nations and other multilateral organizations. Take action on International Day of Peace Consider making a gift to The Rotary Foundation in honor of International Day of Peace on 21 September. Your donation will help Rotary clubs and districts and peace fellows build peace in throughout our global communities. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, The Rotary Foundation |

The Rotary Club of Thomaston sponsors a "Hot Chocolate Table" at the townwide "Light Up Thomaston!" event which occurs annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Each year, volunteers from the Rotary Club of Thomaston are needed to set up, mix, and distribute hot chocolate to the event participants. A volunteer schedule has been set up in 1-hour increments to allow as many members to participate and to minimize exposure to the cold outdoor temperatures that are typical during this event. Sign up for this event by using the sign up link in the email sent to members or contact George Seabourne at geocborn@optonline.net. Looking forward to seeing you at the event as a volunteer and as a participant! |
