Community Grants Distributed!
During today's Rotary Luncheon, successful applicants to the Rotary Club of Thomaston Community Grants program will receive their grant funding.

Our Club's Community Grant application includes the solicitation for feedback, specifically:  "Briefly describe any hands-on services which the Rotary Club might provide for you."  Each Rotary Grant applicant provided a response to this solicitation (see table below).

Come to a meeting and explain what Rotary Club is about.
Thomaston Public Schools-Thomaston High School-Nature Center Signage Posts
Rotarians can write the descriptions of each post, help print signage, insert posts into the ground and prepare the new posts at the Nature Center. Once the posts are up and ready for visitors, Rotarians can also serve as a guide to anyone visiting the Nature Center

Teach a class
Friends of The Thomaston Opera House
Assist with fundraising initiatives
Thomaston Public Schools-Thomaston Center School-Task Force
Include the Task Force in any community based projects, tasks and jobs.
Railroad Museum of New England
Stack merchandise gift shop, clean station, grass, weed cutting.
Thomaston Public Library
Gardening Volunteers
Landmark Community Theatre Youth Education Program
Adult volunteers to help during rehearsals. Also help ushering and backstage during performances
Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance
Assistance at standbys and community events
American Legion Clifford R French Post 22
Painting of Men’s Bathroom
Thomaston Community Pantry, Inc.
Provide members to volunteer, as needed, and maintain awareness of current needs of the pantry
Thomaston Public Schools-Black Rock School-Little Leap Program
Visit Black Rock School and do project with Little Leapers
Thomaston Public Schools-Black Rock School-Read Aloud Day
Participate in the Community Read Aloud Day 5/3/24
Thomaston Public Schools-Black Rock School-District Literacy Leadership Team
Club Members having knowledge or experience on topics of animal habitats, life cycles, planting, astronomy or meteorology are invited to do a presentation

Citizen of the Year Donations
If you were not able to purchase a ticket in time to attend tonight's Citizen of the Year Banquet, you still have time to make a donation.  Checks, made payable to the Rotary Club of Thomaston, can be mailed to:  Rotary Club of Thomaston, P. O. Box 87, Thomaston, CT 06787.  If you prefer to use a credit card, donations can be made online at the Landmark Community Theater website.
