Each year, one of our Club service projects is to serve as Salvation Army Bell Ringers at Adams and the Thomaston Opera House. This year is no different! See the message below from Marissa McGee, Thomaston’s Salvation Army Kettle Coordinator and volunteer now!
(NOTE: See Jeff Dunn to sign up for Bell Ringing at the Opera House).
The Salvation Army is in need of volunteers to ring the bell at our local kettle in Thomaston, which is located at Adam’s Hometown Market on Main Street. Funds collected directly assist individuals and families in our area. Volunteers are needed daily from November 24th - December 23rd between 9am-7pm. I will be coordinating the bell-ringing efforts for Thomaston this year, and I would so appreciate any time you are able to give!
We also need volunteers to ring the bell during Light Up Thomaston, on Saturday November 25th in front of our Main Office from 6pm-8pm. The traditional Salvation Army red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless.
The Salvation Army assists more than four-and-a-half million people during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. Public contributions to Salvation Army kettles enable the organization to continue its year-round efforts at helping those in need.
Please respond to me directly if you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions.
Thank you,
Marissa McGee
