Thomaston Rotary Club News

January is Vocational Service Month

The Rotary International theme for January is Vocational Service Month, focusing on using professional skills and ethical practices for community good, under the larger 2025-2026 annual theme, Unite for Good. This month celebrates the value of all occupations, encouraging Rotarians to apply their unique talents, uphold high ethical standards, and mentor youth to create positive, lasting impacts in their communities.

Key Focus Areas for January 2026:
  • Valuing Occupations: Recognizing the dignity and importance of all useful professions, notes Rotary International.
  • Ethical Standards: Applying the Ideal of Service in daily work and business dealings.
  • Community Impact: Using vocational skills (like engineering, teaching, or entrepreneurship) to solve local challenges and help others.
  • Youth Development: Providing career guidance, mentorship, and job training to empower young people, as highlighted in Rotary International.
