New Evening Meeting Option To better serve our members and friends of Rotary, we are adding an exciting new option to our meeting schedule! As scheduled by the Club, the traditional lunch meeting will be replaced with a 5:00 PM evening gathering at Black Rock Tavern. Instead of a full meal, guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres in a relaxed, social atmosphere. This change is designed to make Rotary more accessible to those who cannot attend during the lunch hour, while also offering a fresh and engaging way to connect with fellow members and prospective members. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming evening meeting! |

Each Year the Rotary Club of Thomaston honors Members of the community for their selfless service to our community.
This year we are pleased to announce that Frank W. Gangloff has been selected by the Rotary Club of Thomaston as the 2026 Distinguished Citizen.
Frank is a longtime volunteer in our community. His hard work and dedication have resulted in over 40 years as a dedicated Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance Corp (TVAC)Member, starting as an EMT MRT to taking office as Treasurer and President of that organization. He now serves as a retired member of TVAC. Frank along with his team, started the billing of insurance companies so that no resident would have to pay for ambulance calls. A pension program was also started during his time as TVAC President, with the Fire Department inviting TVAC to join the program to obtain pensions for any member over the age of 60. This program is still serving today's TVAC and Fire Department Volunteers.
Frank has been a volunteer for 10 years at the Thomaston Food Pantry, organizing the volunteers to help package food distribution bags for clients.
He was also a member of the Lion's Club for 10 years and was responsible for collecting eyeglasses.
The criteria for this award: individuals who have donated numerous hours for an extended period, not for recognition or remuneration rather to benefit others and the Thomaston Community. Frank certainly embodies the criteria as this year’s recipient!
A banquet in Frank's honor will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at The Grand Oak Villa on 550 Sylvan Lake Road in Oakville, CT.
Tickets for the Thursday, April 30, banquet to honor Frank are $55 and will be available at the Thomaston Public Library, Landmark Community Theatre and from Thomaston Rotarians.
Tickets are now available at Landmark Community Theatre website.
Seating will be limited. No tickets will be available at the door.
If you cannot attend the banquet and would like to donate in Frank’s honor, please send a check to:
